Welcome to Muhoya High.
Muhoya high school was established in 1976 at Ihururu Primary School ground.
It is 11 km from Nyeri Town to the leeward side of Nyeri Hill that sores an altitude of 2000 m. It was moved to the present site in 1978. The institution is registered by the ministry of education via registration certificate number. H/A/565/84. The school is sponsored by P.C.E.A. The current enrolment stands at 320 students. The school is a mixed day institution but has a boarding facility for girls that gives the school a provincial outlook.
Currently the school boasts of a population of over 320 compared with 148 over the last years, with 96 girls being boarders since start of a boarding facility in 2008. The school has a friendly and encouraging environment that is enabled through humility and hard work from all stakeholders. Our staff includes 15 Teachers and 8 non-teaching staff members.
The school offers compulsory computer lessons for its students who are examined and awarded certificates by the Computer for Schools Kenya (C.F.S.K)
The school follows the Ministry of Education 8-4-4 syllabus.
We endevour to also nature talents through our vibrant clubs. This year 2013, Our music club managed to take students through to the regional (provincial) music competitions level. The Science club prepared students who contested at the regional level Our sports and games activities have produced athletees who have been participating in National competitions.
